After completing Neptune ReBirth1, I was at a loss as to what I should play next. It's back to the usual cycle of limbo where I sort my backlogs and half-tried stuff to find the next game I'll be losing time (and sleep) over.
Since the ol' box (360) has been gathering a bit of dust (both from minimal use and the stuff I stir up moving things around), I decided to give it a bit of love. Strike Witches: Hakugin No Tsubasa became my main focus on account of having watched the movie again only recently.
During one round of gameplay I popped a secret achievement from a randomly assembled team in arcade mode, I then took it upon myself to find the rest. There were 8 in all, requiring specific character combinations that were only possible there.
Lend-Lease: Play a full Arcade Mode with a team of Witches hailing from Liberion (Charlotte), Britannia(Lynette), Gallia(Perinne),and Orussia(Sanya). Charlotte is a mandatory member, the rest can be hand-picked.
Romagna's Not Joining Today: This one is similar to Three Allied Lands, only you just have to cut Luccini from the group. Any combination of both Fuso and Karlsland Witches will do.
Tora! Tora! Tora!: Play a full Arcade Mode with the 3 Fuso Witches. Enough said.
The Great Air Force Campaign: Play a full Arcade Mode with Minna, Lynette and Hartmann. This one's an odd mix: A veteran commanding officer plus a talented ace who both hail from Karlsland and a soft-spoken, unsure sniper maiden from Britannia.
I Am Charlotte!: Play a full Arcade Mode with Sakamoto, Minna and Perinne. Hmmm, I'm guessing two sword specialists and a commander? Perinne doesn't use her saber during flight missions though.
Do You Like Them Big?: Play a full Arcade Mode with Miyafuji or Luccini. Lynette and Charlotte should make up the rest of the team. Another obvious reference. Miyafuji and Luccini are both enamored with large breasts. Charlotte and Lynette are the top tiers in that department among the Witches of 501. Do the math.
All I can say is this: Save for the 10-consecutive fortune-telling bit, Eila got shafted here. I was confident that there would be one for a Miyafuji + Eila + Sanya team on account of the night patrol arc, but alas, it was not to be.
Now excuse me while I go for a marathon run of the TV anime episodes once again.
This reminds me of K-On! game where you have to try different combinations to trigger unique events lol. Only those who watch the anime would probably have some clues on how to unlock them X)
ReplyDeleteThis game should be the one with PSP port. Tried the demo a bit, pretty interesting ^^
It was a disappointment for most SW fans though since only the shooter element was worked on, the rest of the features were just an afterthought. Still, I gave it a chance and I liked what was there.
DeleteThis is actually the second game that I own two versions of (the first being K-On HL). Got the PSP version since the LE went for half off and it had a Nendoroid of Lynette (one of my favorite characters in the series)
The effort put in to finding which combination popped was the fun part, and it also upped my shooter aptitude as a fringe benefit. Not master class, but good enough to get through with minimal continuing.
